RedBack Is... Back!!! (Trade 5)
This is not a joke.
I traded the original Evelyn Kharag painting "Embellished Soul" for the one and only genuine trading nothing Item T1, a.k.a. RedBack the bottle opener, which had been owned by Sarah Walmsley since we did Trade 2 in August.
And here is the proof...
I had originally acquired RedBack with my first trade, by swapping absolutely nothing (Item T0!) for it.
Now, I think I can guess what you're thinking, and I don't blame you...
You could argue that this was not only not a trade up, but indeed a trade down. But I don't see it that way, and over the coming months I hope to show you why.
Besides, you may have spotted I also got a very large tea cup and saucer, with about ten whole or part cows in the design! I had said to Sarah, if she could bring along something else, anything really, to go with RedBack that could be fun, and she kindly agreed, and this is what I got!
I you want to offer me something bigger/better for either of these or indeed any items currently up for a trade, please fill in and send me one of the forms found in the Up For A Trade page, and we'll take it from there.

5... 6... 7...
Trade 5 is now scheduled to happen proper tomorrow evening. (fingers crossed!)
And the first of the metal creatures that I am due to receive in Trade 6 should be ready first thing in 2007.
And although that item is still very much a work-in-progress, I have just last night agreed in principle to trade it up for... (drum roll please)... for... wait for it... for...
Nah, I'll tell you another day :oD
All being well, that will be Trade 7, and could happen in January (though it's not so local, so we'll see).
So prepare yourself for an impending dazzling flurry of nothing activity, or something - coming soon at a screen near you!

Trade 5 Has Sort Of Happened
I met up to do Trade 5 last night. It sort of happened, but unfortunately there was a technical hitch which translated into me having to leave without a customary photo. And without a photo I am reluctant to announce a trade.
So... a thousand apologies, but the suspense will just have to continue. For probably a few days more. And I will not be making any more predictions when exactly it will happen.
But... it will hopefully happen proper next week. And I didn't just say that.
At least this trade is happening very locally for me, with someone I am already well acquainted with. I gave that someone a sneak preview of my new soon-to-be-launched project, and the response was very encouraging...

More Apologies
Well Friday came and went, didn't it, and more apologies are due... Trade 5 didn't happen again. Yet. Again.
It has now been re-re-scheduled to... tomorrow night - honest!!
Also... Sean the metal creatures guy is aiming to have one creature "rustled up" in the next two weeks, with a second one to follow a week or two later.
And finally for now... I experienced some sort of rush to the head or something, and purchased a small piece of advertising space on a website.
Here is my image, actual size...
Don't ask!
I wonder if you can spot it on this page? I'm not expecting it to bring much traffic... yet. But over the next few months I think it will build up to a lot.

All Apologies
Apologies, it's been a while... the best and only excuse I have is that I have been working on preparing another project for launch. It's going to be a lot of fun too... I hope!
You may have noticed from my newsflash I had a trade scheduled for last Friday. It didn't happen. Yet. It has been re-scheduled for this Friday December 8 (apologies in advance if this one also gets re-scheduled! but I think it will happen...). And I do believe this one will surprise even those who can't remember the last time they were surprised.
Since my last post Sean the metal creatures guy has kindly confirmed he can use my preferred paint colours. And the last I heard he was overseas. I just hope he hasn't emigrated!
Other news... I went to Anfield last week to watch Liverpool FC take on Portsmouth FC in the English Premiership. Unfortunately (for me anyway), the visiting team came to defend and went away with the 0-0 draw they wanted (but, to be fair, I couldn't argue with 3rd in the table...). And both teams were missing a lot of first-choice players through injury. Including Liverpool's Xabi Alonso...
...and if you want to own a genuine and unusual Xabi Alonso match shirt and at the same time contribute to a "a charity that supports grown-ups with congenital heart disorders", check out Paul Youngson's Money For Old Rope trading site, and make him a bigger/better offer.
