Now Up For A Trade: Item T23_2

One autograph book plus one autographed newspaper cutting.

Let's start with the newspaper cutting, a photograph of Matt Busby holding aloft the European Cup, autographed by Matt Busby, the then manager of Manchester United Football Club...

Peter, who traded this to me, got this autograph at the Cliff training ground about a week (he thinks) after United had triumphed in Europe for the first time in 1968, at Wembley.

And inside this autograph book...

... are the autographs of George Best, Bobby Charlton, Denis Law, Nobby Stiles...

That's right, there are two John Astons! Peter got John senior's signature (a former United player and a coach at that time I think), who told him to get that lad's autograph over there, because he will be great one day... only some time later did Peter realise the lad was senior's son! (And he was right! he produced a man of the match performance in the 1968 European Cup final apparently...)
