Now Up For A Trade: Item T2_1
I got this item from Sarah in Trade 2.
This item was traded on to Kinsale Crystal in Trade 3 and so is no longer up for a trade - sorry!
Standing at approximately 12 cm (4.8") high, this is another exquisite nature-inspired (actually fish-inspired in this case) Cool Liquid glass piece, and was also handmade by Sarah Walmsley.
This item - slightly-imaginatively named Fishy Fishy by myself, after a restaurant in Ireland - also comes with the option of being finished off with a special commemorative message and Sarah's signature inscribed. And just to re-iterate, Sarah does not inscribe or sign many of her works - this would indeed make this an extra special collector's piece!
And again, I know my words couldn't possibly do this fine work of art justice! And again Sarah helped me out by describing how she made it:
"A clear sausage-shaped piece of glass is draped over the blue bubble piece, and then using shears it is cut into, and the clear sections are re-heated in the glory hole at 1400 degrees celcius.
"The piece is then knocked off into the leer for cooling, and then, once cooled, is the next day finished and polished."
